We are excited to launch our new collaboration coming this summer! The Miftaah-MYNA Seminary was created to provide sacred knowledge to the next generation of Muslims and Muslim leaders. Its purpose is to instill confidence in our youth leaders and community members through Islamic education in order to help them grow intellectually and spiritually. The courses will be taught online and will be accessible and affordable for all students.
Now more than ever, in an era filled with much uncertainty, understanding the essence of our beliefs is vital for us as Muslims. This understanding helps build a level of certainty within us and reinforces our identity as Muslims, providing us with a sturdy anchor in the ever-changing tides of life.
This class is an introduction to the comprehension of primary religious sources in their original language and forms the basis of one’s ability to interpret, analyze, and apply Islam’s holy texts. Using the concise and to the point sayings of God’s Messenger (pbuh) collected in the classical text The 40 Hadith of Imam Nawawi, students will begin to utilize concepts learned in their morphology and syntax classes to understand the Prophet’s (pbuh) words. A discussion of the grammar and vocabulary included in each hadith will be accompanied by a lesson on the hadeeth meaning and a discussion of its application in our place and time.
