For the Sake of Allah
True friends are those who always strive to teach each other and better each other. This past MYNA winter camp I learned what it meant to love someone for the sake of Allah (swt): to love that person for the fact that you remind each other of God. It means that you do not love them because they can get you fame or recognition or a position that you want, but that you love them expecting nothing else in return. No ulterior motives. Loving someone solely for the sake of Allah (swt) is no small feat. It requires a lot of self control and constant renewal of intentions, conscious awareness of your state of mind. For all this you will get something in return, for those who love one another for the sake of Allah are the people who will get shade on the day of judgment; they are the people with the purest of hearts. May Allah allow us to be of the people who truly love others for His sake and who will get His shade on the day when there is no shade but His.
