I grew up with the story that Shaytan ties three knots into a person’s neck before they go to sleep. This is symbolically uncomfortable and can cause many issues in the upcoming day.
So, how can we get rid of these knots?
It’s probably more simple than you expect and can aid us in starting our mornings the right way.
To get rid of the first knot, we should say the duaa’ for waking up: “All praise is for Allah who gave us life after having taken it from us and unto Him is the resurrection.”
اَلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذي أَحْيَانَا بَعْدَ مَا أَمَاتَنَا وَإِلَيْهِ النُّشُورُ.
To get rid of the second knot, we must make wudu. This may seem hard in the mornings especially to those who live in colder regions. However, this takes a few minutes of discomfort in order to spend the rest of one’s day free of Shaytans obstacles.
To get rid of the last knot, we simply have to pray Fajr. This is important as it is a direct way to seek Allah’s protection and gain a positive influence to the start of our busy days.
By remembering these basic three steps in our morning, we can ensure that Shaytan does not sneak his way into corrupting our fruitful days.
