There’s a girl-••//

There’s a girl in the corner who just turned eighteen, little did they know it was always her dream; to have great friends, family and a soul mate to be her team.

She is crushed by reality, knowing it had flee. She had hope but not for too long, as it went to be free.

She lies awake at night, talking to the moon so bright. She wishes it’ll understand her, as to know no one could ever see her.

She is forced to obey, with harsh consequences as she delays. She tries to be worth it as everyone feeds her to be ‘perfect’.

She is told to “just be happy” as she walks on an ocean of happiness she cannot fall into. No matter how much she tries, she can’t bring herself to stay with you.

She creates a version of herself so daring to everyone who can’t even see her be caring. She has two faces, one out for the public and one for herself that seems to be hectic.

She wants to drive on the road of recovery but she sits in her car listening to herself on the radio saying it is to be a discovery.

She’s met with a lot of people who can’t seem to bring her to be gleeful. She leaves; as the leafs fall to hide the path so quietly. Yet she’s struck with one, one who’s walked the same journey.

She wants to be heard, but she can’t even remember what she has been told. She knows the difference between right and wrong but sometimes she falls and can’t be strong.

She says she’s sorry, without thinking they’d worry but where are they for her to see glory.

She’s never had a hand to hold but builds a wall so tall it won’t fall. So thick it seems but with one touch it steams.

She has a lot she feels but can’t teach so she tries to write out but falls to defeat.

There’s a girl in the corner who just turned eighteen, little did they know it was always her dream; to have great friends, family and a soul mate to be her team.

“All it takes is a beautiful fake smile to hide an injured soul and they will never notice how broken you really are.”- Robin Willams.
