Al Wahhab, The Bestower of Gifts
إِن يَكُونُوا فُقَرَاءَ يُغْنِهِمُ اللَّهُ
"If they realize their poverty, God will make them rich" (Quran : Verse 32 of Surah An-Nur)
This verse of the Quran has multiple meanings, one of which possesses a deep spiritual insight; an insight about the relationship between God The Creator, and us created beings. God is The All-Powerful, The All-Knowing, The Free of Need, The Rich, The Independent. We are needy, dependent, limited and so on; and it is only in recognizing our indigence that we may be enriched by the Divine. As Ibn Ata Illah of Alexandria (1260-1309 AD) put it, “If you realize your attributes, He will help you with His attributes; If you realize your humility, He will help you with His glory; if you realize your incapacity, He will help you with His capability; if you realize your weakness, He will help you with His might and power!"
Within recognition lies the greatest power: transformation.
And ascension soon follows.
