Don’t make yourself miserable with what is to come or not to come.
— Rumi

When I read this quote, the first thing that came into my mind was Tawakkul. I feel that in our lives, we often find ourselves trekking down this long, arduous trail called life. We may wonder why our trail is occasionally bumpier than others, why it’s tracks are somewhat rustier, why the supposedly scenic routes are, well, uglier. We may find ourselves asking, “Why is it taking so long to reach my destination?” That is when we should remember one valuable word: Tawakkul. Allah knows our plan; He knows when we will succeed, when we will fail. He knows our capabilities, and He knows where to guide us. When we find ourselves questioning why things are not going according to our plan, we have to remember that Allah’s plan is greater than ours.
