About MYNA

The youth of today are now, more than ever, often regarded as the source of society's challenges and deficits. Underage drinking, drugs and violence are only a few examples of what have become synonomous with the word "youth".

On the top of such a negative perception of this vibrant segment of our society, American Muslim youth have to cope with other stereotypes such as terrorism and 'un-Americanism'. Muslim youth often find themselves in unfriendly environments within their own communities, where activities and programs are not relevant to their needs, where their opinion doesn't count, and where their voice is seldom heard.

In the face of all of these challenges, MYNA strives to provide youth with the platform to express their thoughts and beliefs, to showcase their talents and skills, and to lead our community today, and not be relegated to the afterthoughts of tomorrow. MYNA's unique camps, diverse programs, and exciting activities are inspired, planned, and organized wholly by youth, with the support and guidance of select, experienced advisors.

Words of Wisdom

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Fasting Ramadan and following it with six days from Shawwal is like continual fasting.”
